Wilfrid Laurier University Press

Founded in 1974, Wilfrid Laurier University Press publishes scholarly monographs, collections, and trade books in history, literature, sociology, social work, life writing, film and media, women’s studies, philosophy, and religion. It produces 25–30 titles a year and has over 200 titles in print.

We’ve designed numerous book covers and series marks for WLUP. As a growing university press, it needed to create a national presence while keeping within budget. We’ve developed a bolder, more graphic look for its covers by carefully sourcing affordable imagery and using strong, creative typography.

The results are more playful than the typical scholarly design, reflecting a sense of innovation at the Press.
